Embark on an exhilarating Mossel Bay shark cage diving experience, starting from our office in central Mossel Bay, conveniently located near the harbour. Depending on the weather and tides, meeting times range from 7am to 10am, and you’ll receive confirmation the day before your tour.

Arrive at our office an hour before the scheduled boat launch to enjoy refreshments while our team conducts a detailed dive and safety briefing. Afterwards, we take a short walk to the harbour, where we board the boat for a quick 2km ride to Seal Island, Mossel Bay’s famous shark hotspot. Thanks to Mossel Bay’s distinction as the most accessible location globally for encountering great white sharks, the boat ride only takes about 10 minutes.

Shark Cage Diving Adventure

Once the boat anchors, the crew begins chumming to attract the sharks. The cage is lowered into the water, staying securely attached to the side of the boat. When you’re in the cage, your head remains above water, offering a perfect vantage point for both comfort and adrenaline-pumping views of these ocean predators.

All necessary equipment for Mossel Bay shark cage diving is provided onboard, including wetsuits in various sizes. No scuba certification is required, making this adventure accessible to everyone, including children aged 12 and up. Onboard refreshments are also available to keep you energized.

Your first dive in the cage will last around 20 minutes, and there’s usually enough time for a second dive if you’re eager for more. After 2 to 3 hours at sea, we head back to shore, where you’ll receive a certificate—a lasting reminder of your incredible encounter with great white sharks.
